Aubree Monares LIT 115 8 November 2017 Blog Post Number 8 While listening to A Midsummer Night’s Dream , there are many things that I noticed that I would not have if I only read the poem. Listening to the poem allowed me to hear the shifts in tone and emphasis of certain words and phrases. I noticed that each character had a distinct voice and attitude, which made it easier for me to differentiate the characters and their personalities. I noticed that the commentary that the narrator provides allows the reader to fully imagine the situation and what the characters are doing. I noticed that one of the characters, Hermia, is being told that she has to get married or she will be killed. It is said that it is her father’s wish for her to marry and if she does not obey him, she will die. The woman’s tone, compared to the men’s tone, is somewhat helpless and quiet.
